Indigenous Peoples: Substance Use and Gambling

This course provides participants with an opportunity to enhance competencies when working with Indigenous populations in the area of prevention and treatment of substance use and gambling behaviours.

Audience:

This course is eligible for U of M ACCP specialization in Addiction Studies and appropriate for post-secondary students and helping professionals.

Description:

This course includes information on:

  • The history and relationship among Indigenous and non-Indigenous people
  • Definitions of Indigenous people
  • Relevance of these issues to working with clients today

Fundamentals of Addictions
