AFM’s new Cannabis Website, www.WeedingOutTheFacts.ca is now live!
With the recent legalization of cannabis, AFM wants to ensure youth, parents, caregivers and service providers have the facts about cannabis. This new, easy to navigate website provides reliable, accurate information on the topic of cannabis in one place in an engaging, digestible format.
The website includes sections targeted at youth, caring adults and service providers with topics of the laws, health effects, myths and facts, harm reduction options, supportive resources and more.
Health Canada’s report, A Framework for the Legalization of Cannabis in Canada, notes there are many misconceptions about cannabis use among youth and the general public. The report recommends consistent, evidence based educational campaigns to inform Canadians about the potential harms and risks associated with cannabis use before legalization. www.WeedingOutTheFacts.ca does just that, providing non- judgemental, factual information to service providers and the public.
Thank you to the Canadian Research Initiative in Substance Misuse (CRISM) for supporting the development of this website with grant funding.
