Manitoba Opioid Support and Treatment (MOST) Program

The Manitoba Opioid Support & Treatment Program (MOST) is a comprehensive community-based, outreach program that provides treatment, support and resources that are designed to meet the needs of individuals who have an Opioid Use Disorder (OUD). Services enable individuals to regain stability, take steps towards recovery and achieve personal goals.

What Services Does MOST Provide?

MOST is a team of providers, physicians and nurse practitioners that are experienced in addictions medication. There are nurses on the MOST team that provide case management services to the individuals who are working with MOST. Services include:

  • Counselling & support
  • Prescription of opioid agonist therapy (OAT) medications.
  • Health education & guidance
  • Disease prevention education
  • Support to link with community-based resources
  • Regular contact with MOST physician, nurse practitioner and nurse
  • Harm reduction education and supplies available

Who is Eligible for MOST?

  • Individual must want to be part of MOST program.
  • Have an Opioid Use Disorder.
  • Must be over the age of 16 years old.
  • Individual is committed to following through with the OAT program at MOST.
  • Youth ages 16 and 17 years old.
  • Pregnant individuals.
  • Individuals being released after an incarceration.
  • If an individual has significant medical or psychiatric conditions, consultation with the intake team and the MOST medical lead must be held to determine if MOST is the appropriate service.

How do I apply for MOST?

A referral to MOST can be made through your care provider (family physician/nurse practitioner), or through Rapid Access to Addictions Medicine (RAAM) clinics, Corrections staff, hospitals and other service providers.
